Unpacking the headset
Before you start setting up your Oculus Go headset, take all the items out of the box to make sure nothing is missing.
You should have the following items in your Oculus Go headset package:

What you need to do before connecting the Oculus Go headset:
- Attach the included strap to the Oculus Go controller.
- If you want to use Oculus Go with glasses, insert the goggle boundary insert into the Oculus Go headset.
Oculus Go headset settings
To set up your Oculus Go headset and connect to Wi-Fi, you’ll need to download the Oculus app to your mobile phone. The Oculus app works on the following phones:
- Any Android phone running Marshmallow 6.0 or later
- Any iPhone running iOS 10 and later
Download the Oculus Go app to a supported phone from oculus.com/app. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
Notes:
- To set up Oculus Go, your phone must be connected to a Wi-Fi network and have Bluetooth turned on.
- If you install the Oculus app on an unsupported device, you may experience issues when setting up your Oculus Go headset.
Connecting and pairing a headset
When you’re ready to use the Oculus Go headset for the first time:
- Plug the power cable into the Oculus Go headset and connect the power supply. This will start charging the headset. When it’s fully charged, the charging light will turn green.
- Download the Oculus app to your iPhone or Android phone and launch it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the headset to your phone, then connect the headset to your Wi-Fi network.
- Then follow the on-screen instructions to pair the controller with the headset.
- For optimal performance, wait until the headset is fully charged before putting it on.
Using the headset
- Loosen the side straps and then the top strap.
- Be careful when handling the tapes. If the side straps come loose from the headset, you can reattach them.
- Put the headset on from the back to the front.
- If you wear glasses, start by putting the headset on from the front.
- Tighten the side loops and then the top belt.
- Be careful not to pull the tape too much. The headset should fit comfortably on your head. This means it shouldn’t feel too tight on your face or head.
